All classes have a minimum weight requirement where many drivers attach lead weights to their kart to meet the minimum weight for their class.

Senior drivers can choose to race in a Light or Heavy class – or both! There more information on the Karting NSW Website.

No. You can race your own kart, lease one, or participate in Come & Try day where a kart will be provided kart. Get in touch with us and we’ll help you choose the best option.

Come & Try sessions run on race days — either between classes, during lunch, or after racing. The Come & Try fee includes the hire of a kart, suit, helmet, and gloves.
Fees: $120 (hire kart, 2x10min sessions), or $65 if you bring your own kart.

Practice usually runs in the morning before racing starts. It is class-specific and gives you a chance to warm up, learn the track, and make any adjustments to your kart if necessary. You will need a Karting NSW licence, full race gear (suit, helmet, gloves and boots), and a go kart.

To race you will need a Karting NSW licence (day licences are available), and you will need to pre-enter via the Karting NSW website at least 24 hours before the event.
In terms of equipment, you will need a go kart (either your own or you can lease one), and you will need to wear full race gear (suit, helmet, gloves and boots).

We follow Karting NSW rules for tyres:

• Novice & Rookie
  Dry: Dunlop SL1A – 10×4.50-5 (Front & Rear)
  Wet: Dunlop KT14W13 – 10×4.50-5 (Front & Rear)
• Juniors
  Dry: Dunlop DHH – Front: 10×4.50-5, Rear: 11×7.10-5
  Wet: Dunlop KT14W13 – Front: 10×4.50-5, Rear: 11×6.50-5
• Seniors
  Dry: Dunlop DHH – Front: 10×4.50-5, Rear: 11×7.10-5
  Wet: Dunlop KT14W13 – Front: 10×4.50-5, Rear: 11×6.50

Tyres can be purchased from Dunlop Kart Sports or local karting stores, and cost around $260 per set and can be used for multiple practice race days.

Race entry fees are per event and include practice, heats and a final.

You will need to enter view the Karting NSW portal before midnight the Friday before each race.

Novice is for ages 7–9yo.
Rookie is for ages 10–12yo.
Both the Novice and Rooke classes use the same engine and chassis.

Junior is for ages 12-–16yo.
Senior is for ages 15+.
Both the Junior and Senior classes use the same engine and chassis, with the main difference being the minimum weight requirement. Eg: Senior race at a heavier weight than Juniors. And Seniors can race in a Light Weight or Heavy Weight division – or both!

We race at Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway in Sydney, NSW.

A typical race day schedule would look like:

• 6:00am – Gates Open
• 7:00am – Track Walk & Scrutineering (all classes)
• 8:00am – Drivers Briefing
• 8:30–9:30am – Practice Sessions (Seniors)
• 9:30am – Racing Commences
• 10:00–11:00am – Senior/Junior Come & Try Sessions between race heats
• 11:00am–4:00pm – Rookie/Novice/Junior Come & Try Sessions between heats
• 2:00pm – Racing Continues
• 4:30pm (approx.) – Presentations
• 5:00pm – Track Closed

A typical race Format would look like:

• Practice: 30-minute session for Seniors
• Qualifying: 8-minute sessions
• Heat 1: 8 laps
• Heat 2: 8 laps
• Pre-Final: 10 laps
• Final: 12 laps

No. A go kart will fit on the back of a dual cab ute or can be transported with a common open box trailer. Novice and Rookie karts can even fit in a lot of family wagons with the rear seats folded down.
If you travel around NSW at different race tracks, staying overnight, etc then an enclosed trailer can be handy – though not essential.

Come & Try sessions: These are great for working out if go karting is for you and costs $120. Ongoing costs include race entries (~$120), tyres, fuel, and maintenance. We’ll help you plan it all out on your journey to the grid.

Most people that race do not have or need sponsors as karting with Super 4s is very affordable and can be done on a shoe-string budget.
